To Sum Things Up...

We all love the look good, but sometimes we don't have the time or energy to put in the effort to come up with a new and exciting outfit for each day. I personally love fashion and love dressing to impress but when I'm running late for class I'm forced to throw on sweatpants and a tshirt. That's why I have come up with the Outfit-Picker-Outer.

The Outfit Picker Outer (OPO) is a software designed to help make choosing your outfit for the day easier than ever! By scanning your wardrobe using a camera or smartphone/tablet/etc., your clothes will be stored in the OPO's memory. When you purchase new clothing, you will be able to add it to your accounts memory as you get it. Each users account will be backed up in the cloud so that once they store their clothing in the OPO's memory, it will never be lost and they will always be able to retrieve it. They will also have the option to lock their account and make it private to protect their information if wanted.

Everybody has their own styles and types of fashion that they feel more comfortable in, and the OPO is aware of this. In order to make sure that the OPO can pick out the right outfit for each user, there will be surveys and simple yes or no questions to get a better understanding of how the user dresses. Along with this, the user will be able to tell the OPO what kind of occasion they will need to outfit for (i.e. class, interview, dinner) and it will pick out an outfit that is appropriate attire for whatever event it is needed for.

When I first came up with idea for the OPO, I imagined it being it's own machine. As the idea developed however, I decided it would be a better idea to have it as a software that could run on many different operating systems so that it would be more accessible to more users. The OPO website will also play a large role as it will allow different OPO users to communicate with each other. By having users share their favorite outfits with each other and exchanging ideas people will be able to get even more use out of the software and discover even more fashion trends that they enjoy.

To make this idea reality, I would need a team of workers with many different skills. Obviously somebody would need to write up the code for the software and make it work. I would also need people to create the website and make it possible for the users to interact along with someone to direct the social media aspects of the OPO like the facebook and twitter pages. We will also need to create advertisements to get our product out there and make it known to people because even with a great software that people will love, if people don't know about it then it can never get started!

The OPO and Security

The Outfit-Picker-Outer (OPO) is an outfit generator that stores your wardrobe in it's memory and then creates and outfit for you each morning based on your style tastes and the occasion that you need to outfit for. The user has the option to take quizzes and surveys or even simply clicking "yes" or "no" to an outfit to help the OPO generate outfits that better fit the user's taste.

Security is extremely important to ensure that each user's information is kept safe and cannot be used by someone else. To control who has access to each users account, the user will be able to restrict who has permission to their account or even specific parts of the account. The OPO has many features allowing different users to share their outfits and other parts of their account online with other users. Each user will have the opportunity to update their account security choosing what they want or do not want to be shared online.

Each user will also have the option to create a password that they will need to enter each time they use their OPO account. This will require each user to authorize their information before logging in so that their information can be even more protected. There will also be antivirus software to block viruses from downloading themselves into the OPO service.

The OPO and Operating Systems

The Outfit Picker Outer (OPO) is an outfit generator. It will store your clothing in its memory and then pick out an outfit for you based on your style preferences and where you will be going in this outfit. With multiple options and color schemes, you will never have to spend time stressing about what to wear again.

An operating system is a set of programs containing instructions that work together to coordinate all activities among computer hardware resources. Operating systems perform functions like starting or shutting down a computer, providing interface, managing programs and memory, coordinating tasks, establishing internet connection, and more.

The OPO is a program that will be designed to run on multiple operating systems to make it more accessible to more users. Because computers can all run on different operating systems, the OPO must work with whatever operating system is installed on the users' computer. The OPO is also going to be designed as an application that can be accessed on smart phones allowing more people to share their outfits and connect with other OPO users. Because of this, it will also have to be able to run on phone operating systems as well as computers.

The OPO And Cloud Computing

The OPO is the Outfit-Picker-Outer machine that is going to change everybody's morning routine for the better! Based on where you are going and your fashion choice, the OPO will put together an outfit from your wardrobe. It will also provide multiple options of different color schemes and styles so that you never have to stress over picking an outfit again!

Cloud computing is storing, processing, or managing data on a server located on the internet instead of a local server. Once information is stored in "the cloud" it can be easily accessed from many different locations. Cloud computing will definitely play a large role in the OPO.

In order for the OPO to work, the user must register the clothes in their wardrobe into the machines memory. It also offers the user the option to take surveys or answer questions to help it choose outfits that will more accurately fit their taste. While all of this information can be stored on a hard drive in the machine, it can also be backed up in the cloud to ensure that the information will not be lost in case something were to happen.

Another aspect of the OPO is that you will be able to share your favorite outfits and see other peoples outfits online. All of this information will be stored in the cloud so that anybody who is anywhere can access the website and the information on it. This will allow other OPO users to interact and exchange ideas.

Blog Review: Digital Inspiration

Digital Inspiration (http://www.labnol.org) is a technology blog that offers tips and tools to help people take advantage of all that the internet has to offer. The author, Amit Agarwal, quit his job at ADP inc. to become India's first and only professional blogger.

Digital Inspiration serves to make surfing the web easier so that users don't have to spend as much time figuring out how to find what they are looking for or use a program and can spend more time actually doing what they love. It has how-to guides and detailed tutorials to help people use and do more with their software tools. Along with how to's, it has tips to make surfing the web easier and more beneficial.

This blog is definitely extremely helpful to any internet user. The one thing I think it could change to make it more beneficial would be to add tags to the posts to organize them better and categorize the ones that are similar. This would make it much easier for a user to find something that they are specifically looking for on the website. For example, if every tag that had to do with google or a google product were tagged with google, it would be much easier for someone to narrow down what they need by going to that specific category and then browsing through those posts instead of aimlessly browsing through the entire blog. While there is a search bar, sometimes this is not as effective because it might bring up irrelevant articles that the user isn't looking for.

Competitors of the OPO

The Outfit Picker Outer (OPO) is an electronic machine used to make getting ready in the morning easier. With your wardrobe registered in its’ memory, the OPO will pick out an outfit for you based on where you need to go, whether it be a job interview or just to class. The OPO is the biggest up and coming technology advance in the fashion industry and will be popular with those who love fashion and looking good, along with those who are the opposite and don't want to put any effort into getting ready in the morning. While the OPO is a new and innovative idea, there are other companies out there with similar goals.

One company that is a popular outfit maker is the website Polyvore (http://www.polyvore.com/). Polyvore is a website bringing together the fashion community online and allowing them to share there new styles with each other. It allows you to clip or bookmark your favorite products from stores on the web, style these different products online to produce an outfit, and share your outfits and products with others on  the web through various social media websites. While Polyvore is similar to the OPO, the OPO allows to customer to save time by putting together the outfit for you, however, It still gives you the option to mix and match your clothes on your own to create your own masterpiece.

Another company with a similar idea is the website My Virtual Model (http://www.mvm.com/index.html). While this website is similar to Polyvore, it is even more personal as it allows you to upload a picture of your face and mold your own body shape to physically try the outfits on in front of you on your computer screen. By creating a generic outfit on your model, the website then searches for an outfit online similar to the one you created and pulls together the various websites that you can purchase these products on. It also allows you to arrange items in a collage next to your model for a comparison to the outfit that your originally sought out to find. The comparison feature is a very smart idea and allows you to see what you like better in front of you without having to physically try each outfit on multiple times. With this in mind, I would add a feature to the OPO allowing you to compare outfits that the OPO picks out side-by-side to make choosing what to wear even easier for the customer.

The System Unit of the OPO

The Outfit Picked Outer (OPO) is the newest technology perfect for people who love to look great and save time. The OPO's main functions include:
  • Stores your entire wardrobe in its' memory
  • Puts together an outfit based on your wardrobe and the specific occasion that you choose for the day
  • Offers a variety of color options for every outfit that it creates
  • Offers surveys and quizzes in order to get to know your style better and create outfits that you will better enjoy
While the OPO is called a robot, it will be put together similarly to a computer. It will include many of the same parts that make up the system unit in a regular PC. It will have the same amount of RAM that a PC would have, around 6-8 GB. The OPO not only stores the memory of your wardrobe but also connects you to the internet to share your outfits with other users and therefore will need more RAM than the most basic computer. It would need to have memory cache to speed up the processes of the OPO because it stores frequently used instructions and data.

The OPO would have USB ports so that you could connect it to other devices to make sharing information among them easier. For example, it would be simple to connect your smart phone to the OPO to share an outfit on your Facebook or twitter page. The OPO would also obviously need to have a main processor with a control unit to direct and coordinate the operations on the OPO and an arithmetic logic unit to compute arithmetic comparison and algorithms.

Social Media and the OPO

The Outfit-Picker-Outer (OPO) is an electronic robot designed to make getting ready in the morning easier than ever. With all of your clothes registered in the OPO's memory, all you have to do is tell the OPO where you will be going that day. Based on this information, the OPO will then pick out an outfit appropriate for whatever occasion in the specific styles that fit your taste.

To help get the word out about the new OPO, we will have people "like" the Outfit-Picker-Outer on its' Facebook page. The page will allow people to share their personal experiences with their OPO and share the page on their status or on their friend's walls. The facebook page will have different apps available like a discussion forum, a survey to respond to, and photos and videos of the OPO's advertisements.
We will also have an official OPO twitter account to help connect different OPO users. People who follow the OPO will be able use the twitter as an online customer service and tweet for answers to questions they have about the robot or to let the company know about their good or bad experiences immediately after use. Users will also be able to tweet their favorite outfits that the OPO picked out for them to share with other OPO users with the OPO hashtag #favOPOoutfit. This will help customers connect over their experience and use with their OPO and make suggestions to each other.

INTRODUCING: The Outfit Picker-Outer!

Lets face it, nobody has the energy to put real thought into anything right when they wake up. Finding your toothbrush in the dark is one thing, but picking out an entire outfit when you can barely keep your eyes open? That's just a set up for a disaster! With the Outfit Picker-Outer (OPO), you can avoid these fashion disasters that ruin your day!

You've got all the clothes and the style, but maybe you don't have the energy or fashion sense to put an outfit together. The main function of the OPO is to help choose your outfit based on the clothes in your closet. By registering your entire wardrobe in the machine, it will have your entire closet programmed in it's memory. To help OPO pick out your outfit, the customer will tell OPO what the outfit is needed for whether it be school, an interview, or a formal dinner. Based on this information, OPO will put together an appropriate outfit for whatever occasion from the clothes in your wardrobe. OPO will offer multiple outfits of different color schemes and styles to choose from to suit whatever mood you are in that day.

To make OPO even more personal, it will customize to your favorite styles. You will have the option to answer a number of questions when you first set up your OPO to help it narrow down what you like and don't like. It will display a certain outfit or article of clothing and by answering a simple yes or no to 'Would you wear this?' OPO will have a better sense of how you dress and will be able to pick out an outfit that you would pick out yourself.

We are all always looking for more timesavers. What better way to save time then to cut out half of your morning ritual by having someone else get your outfit ready? The Outfit Picker-Outer is in the future of fashion and will be every girl (or guys!) new best friend!
