The OPO and Operating Systems

The Outfit Picker Outer (OPO) is an outfit generator. It will store your clothing in its memory and then pick out an outfit for you based on your style preferences and where you will be going in this outfit. With multiple options and color schemes, you will never have to spend time stressing about what to wear again.

An operating system is a set of programs containing instructions that work together to coordinate all activities among computer hardware resources. Operating systems perform functions like starting or shutting down a computer, providing interface, managing programs and memory, coordinating tasks, establishing internet connection, and more.

The OPO is a program that will be designed to run on multiple operating systems to make it more accessible to more users. Because computers can all run on different operating systems, the OPO must work with whatever operating system is installed on the users' computer. The OPO is also going to be designed as an application that can be accessed on smart phones allowing more people to share their outfits and connect with other OPO users. Because of this, it will also have to be able to run on phone operating systems as well as computers.

  1. Let me begin by stating this a a great idea and that I feel your blog background/design fits perfectly. I feel like this could be a very succesful APP. I am sort of wondering how a program might go about recognizing clothes as fitting with eachother, and if it could recognize old(er) clothes that somebody has owned. I am just unsure if there is software that can recognize clothing matches if someones clothes were missing barcodes. (I would just make sure there was a way for everybody to use this product because i would assume that most people are not going to be able to digitally catalogue previously bought outfits and most people won't buy clothes just for this APP.) Great Idea Though

  2. Awesome idea. Maybe I can use it sometime in the future. Sounds like it'll be extremely popular, especially on college campuses. You're application will definitely have to run on the best of computer processing systems. You will have to anticipate many users uploading hundreds if not thousands of combinations of outfits, it will take a lot of work but definitely an innovating idea none the less that I hope to see on the market some day.
